Rutger de Beer specializes in soft IP (in particular in the areas of copyright, trademarks, designs, tradenames, and databases), with a strong focus on (international aspects of) litigation. Rutger also regularly engages in evidentiary seizures and other protective measures.

Prior to joining Hofhuis Alkema Groen, Rutger worked for an IP niche firm that also operates in the top tier of The Netherlands.

Rutger gained fundamental knowledge of EU and national IP law during his research master in Amsterdam (Universiteit van Amsterdam), and exchange in Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet).

In addition to his litigation practice, Rutger enjoys writing articles on the topic of soft IP law for (inter)national journals.

Rutger was admitted to the Bar in 2016.
